Biography
Since 2004, Mr. Miller’s professional focus has been structural engineering and forensic damage assessments of structures. His clients include property owners, architects, property management companies and HOAs, local governments, building departments, contractors, attorneys, independent adjusters, insurance carriers, and design professionals. Mr. Miller’s engineering design experience includes structural design and analysis for new construction, additions, renovations, and rehab projects using wood, steel, concrete, precast/prestressed concrete, and masonry. Mr. Miller’s forensic engineering experience includes investigating insurance claims and litigation cases involving buildings damaged from wind, tornados, hurricanes, hail, snow/ice, storm surge/flooding, earthquakes, fires, construction vibrations, moisture intrusion and building envelope issues, and foundation movement. Mr. Miller also has experience evaluating damage to non-building structures such as concrete and masonry fences and retaining walls, concrete slabs, driveways, and general flatwork.
Mr. Miller has experience with a wide range of building types including multi-family residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and institutional facilities. In addition, Mr. Miller has performed construction defect assessments, structural failure analyses, repair recommendations, building code reviews for repairs, and provided assistance on Builder's Risk evaluations. Mr. Miller also provides expert witness testimony in support of arbitration and litigation proceedings.
