Biography
"Mr. Michael Kamel has over 10 years of experience in forensic investigation and building design. Mr. Kamel has conducted numerous forensic investigations of residential and commercial buildings, including failure analysis and damage modeling of structures, associated with both natural and man-made events. Mr. Kamel’s experience includes, but is not limited to, wind/hail studies, flood investigations, moisture exposure assessments, fenestration analyses, foundation studies, explosion and impact analyses, and structural fire investigations.
Mr. Kamel’s design experience includes the design of building framing and foundations of single- and multi-family residential, and mixed-use/light commercial structures. During his design career, Mr. Kamel designed and analyzed various structural elements including floor systems, shear walls, wall framing, and roof and ceiling framing. Mr. Kamel also designed and analyzed a wide array of foundation systems including post-tensioned and reinforced concrete slabs and pier and beam foundations. During Mr. Kamel’s design years, he reviewed numerous soil reports, produced and reviewed construction drawings, conducted site visits, assessed construction defects, and developed remedial repair recommendations.
